2017 Local Charity Contest Winners

Congratulations to our December "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, Urban Ministries of Wake County! Their mission is to engage our community to serve and advocate on behalf of those affected by poverty by providing food and nutrition, by promoting health and wellness, and by laying the foundations of home.

Congratulations to our October "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, Abby's Army! Their mission is dedicated to supporting the children and families affected by and fighting pediatric brain cancer. Their goal is to help allow every child diagnosed with cancer to continue being a child.

Congratulations to our August "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC! Their mission is: No One Goes Hungry in Central & Eastern North Carolina. Established in 1980, the Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties for over 35 years.

Congratulations to our June "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, Friends of Wake County Animal Center! They are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in our community and their human families. Thank you to all who participate in our contest!

Congratulations to our April "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, Paw Prints Animal Rescue! Paw Prints Animal Rescue (PPAR) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the population of homeless cats, kittens, dogs and puppies by maintaining two programs -- a Rescue and Adoption Program and a Feral Cat Management Program. Individual donations are our most important source of income as we receive no public funding. Thank you to all who participate in our contest!

Congratulations to our February "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, Hope Animal Rescue! Hope Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of stray or abandoned animals in North Carolina. We rescue all breeds and are 100% volunteer run, utilizing foster homes to rescue dogs and cats in need. Hope Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and all donations are tax-deductible. Congratulations to our January "Win For Local Charity" contest winner, Triangle Beagle Rescue! Triangle Beagle Rescue (aka TriBeagles or TBR) is a breed-specific beagle rescue in the Triangle (Raleigh-Chapel Hill) area of North Carolina. We have been rescuing beagles since 1999 and, to date, have rescued more than 1500 beagles in North Carolina. We are committed to bringing together humans and hounds for a lifetime of love and pleasure in each other's company! Thank you to all who participate in our contest!
